The best way to study for IGBC AP is to first read that full text of LEED India NC detailed reference guide once. You will gain a good perspective on Green Building design and practices. Then don’t waste your time reading it again!
Study each section and make your own notes on it. This will help you to organize things in your brain and also will help you to revise your learning.
Most of the Reference Guide is broken down into two things: prerequisite and credits.
Prerequisites are mandatory requirements that a project must fulfill. If a project fails to meet even ONE prerequisite, it does NOT qualify for IGBC certification.
Credits are where points are earned. Each credit contains a specific requirement, and points are awarded to projects that fulfill those requirements.
LEED has organized various prerequisites and credits into related categories. These are:
1. Sustainable Sites (SS)
2. Water Efficiency (WE)
3. Energy & Atmosphere (EA)
4. Materials & Resources (MR)
5. Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ)
6. Innovation & Design (ID)
For every perquisite and credits these are the following points you should take note of and memorize.
· Intention (important)
· Requirements (important)
· Reference Standards (very important)
· Decision Makers (not very important)
· Submittal Phase (not very important)
· Calculation (not at all important from exam point of view, but you should know these logics)
When you study, make notes for the above points under each prerequisite and credits.
