The rational for choosing the name “Greeny Rainbow” for this blog:
First and honest reason: ‘Green Rainbow’ is already a patented name and belongs to a political party that has nothing to do with me and vice-versa! So the next best choice was ‘Greeny Rainbow’.
But wait! I have got some better convincing and fascinating answers also…:)
Greeny means “like green”. While Green is an Absolute, Greeny is a Relative term.
Greeny is the strong attitude and earnest attempt to become Green. You have not yet reached there; but are trying you best.
I love humans for their imperfections. Absolutes are not our kind of game. Our beauty is our imperfections; hence Greeny.
Green is considered as a warm color, not hot as in the red range and not cold and in the blue range; but just warm, neutral and universal. If all the colors in a rainbow get mixed up, you will end up getting a green rainbow!
For all practical purposes Green and Greeny are the same, but theoretically/theologically the first is an absolute/perfect state and the second is a Relative/Perceived state.
I guess Rainbow would be the first natural phenomenon at which you got awestruck as a kid. Your dad/mom would have shown you that big beautiful multi-colored bow in the sky; just pasted in the sky as if someone has taken pains to do so. He/She would have told you some supernatural stories about who placed the bow there. I still marvel when I see a rain bow in the sky. We now know all science that goes into the rainbow; but still a rainbow is so beautiful that you don’t need explanations on it. This will, most probably, be your kid’s first wonder also.
In various cultures rainbow is been considered as the mark of a covenant between the supernatural forces and humans. A covenant that reminds human beings about all the natural wonders, natural resources and natural calamities.
And rainbow is just our perception; it is not real! But it is as good as real. All these environmentally friendly attitudes we talk about are in fact a perception. They are not anything new and innovative. In fact the natural law of nature is self-sustainable. We are reinventing that same wheel only because we forgot that good old ways of natural life. And how much ever we try; we will not be totally environmentally neutral. But still we persevere. Rainbow is an illusion.
Now club these two words together and you get “an attitude to persevere for a better tomorrow” - ‘Greeny Rainbow’:
