Make it a Habit..:) - Save Electricity via CFL

Now, this is just common knowledge by now!

Change all your frequently using light bulbs (both incandescent bulbs(GLS) and tube-lights of fluorescent lights (FTL)) to CFL (compact fluorescent lamps).

As a thumb rule, a 60W GLS can be replaced by 11W CFL with greater efficiency, economy and long life.

Studies shows that a 10% substitution of GLS with CFL will save energy worth US $ 128 million per year.

As per the experts, these are the advantages of using a CFL:

2.	More compact. No extra starter needed.	2.	Low voltage operation, lighting up even at 70% of the rated supply voltage.
3.	Easier to replace. Less frequent replacement.	3.	Can withstand over-voltage up to 130% of the rated supply voltage.
4.	No flicker. Reaches full luminous flux within just 45-120 seconds.	4.	No separate starter needed.
5.	Less maintenance cost.	5.	Long life: more than 10,000 hrs.
6.	Lower weight and size, having more attractive shape.
7.	Consumption of ballast less than 3 W per 36W/40W lamp.

And as with all Green savings, you cut down the electricity bill also…J
