Modesty

It was the Mahatma who said “world has enough for everyone’s need, but not for everyone’s greed.”

Modesty is an ATTITUDE. It is not the cost of the dress you wear or the price tag on the car you drive. It is rather a life style and a way of thought.
When you try and be honest as described above, modesty will automatically set in. Because just like the Mahatma said, since earth don’t have enough resources to satisfy your greed, you will have to become dishonest and steal it by force from someone else. Do a small research on each luxury you indulge in, and there will definitely be someone somewhere who got exploited in the process of gifting you that glittering thing on a platter.
When it comes to modesty, I cannot portray anyone other than our own great Mahatma, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was the epitome of human modesty. Even his bitter enimies will agree to it!
Still, we should also be aware about the other side of the story which expressed as a joke by Sarojini Naidu: “To keep Mahatma Gandhi poor, we have to destroy treasures. His poverty is very costly.”
Let the Green disciple be rational and not emotional about being modest.
In the end, your modesty should not be your showoff! Be honest in your modesty too.
Be Modest, Go Green.
