At office

9:00am
At office
Just One Mantra: Be conscious about your energy use.
For every bit of electricity you are using up, remember that somewhere someone’s air, water and land are getting polluted. Let’s minimize his damages!
Paper Use Reduction:
Make very reasonable and judicial use of paper.
For every 3000 paper, one tree needs to be cut! Hence print your documents if it is so absolutly necessary. The negative effects on air-quality due to those printer chemicals are even worse!
Try reading those mails and documents from your computer screen itself. Reduce your printing demands (be conscious and engage a quantitative reduction strategy).

Also don't simple waste the already used/printed papers! Use one-sided printed papers for your scribble notes. You can even start a 'Used Paper Kiosk' at your desk and start supplying one-side printed papers to your colleagues.
Recyclable Waste:
If your office already have a segregated waste collection (paper, plastic, organic, etc.) in place, good and fine. Please adhere to that.
If not, you might advice the management to have one…J At least you do your part and make sure that you properly dispose all your waste materials into the collecting bins. And when you are just about to crush a paper to throw it to the dust bin, make sure it is already used on both sides!

Energy Savings:
@Tea Breaks:
(like 5-10mins): Make sure your computer is put on to Stand-by mode. Try and avoid using those innocent looking plastic/paper disposable glasses. Use a normal reusable glass/mug.
@Lunch Breaks:
(like 30-45mins): Don’t put you computers to standby. Hibernate it or switch it off! Don’t worry about your windows being too slow while booting up, take a long breath and inhale some clean air and feel good about what you have not done to someone’s air, water and land.
Done for the day: Make double sure that your computer is SWITCH OFF. No excuses on that please..:)
If you are having your own ‘adjustable task lights’ at your work desk, make sure that is also in OFF mode.
